Truist Championship Birdies for Better Donor Registration Now Open
Support Charlotte-based non-profit organizations ahead of the 2026 event
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – The Truist Championship today announced that Birdies for Better, a new charitable initiative tied to tournament play, is now open for donor participation. Fans can participate by making a donation to a registered charity of their choice leading up to the Truist Championship, returning to Quail Hollow Club, May 5-10, 2026.
"Birdies for Better is about transforming the competition at the Truist Championship into a way to bring the community together in a powerful way,” said Caroline Carney, Community Impact Manager, Truist Championship. “We’re proud to give fans a simple, meaningful way to support Carolinas-based nonprofits while celebrating the excitement of one the PGA TOUR's Signature Events in our own backyard.”
Charitable organizations are encouraged to invite their supporters to make a minimum $20 contribution that will allow them to guess the number of birdies that will be made during the competitive rounds of the Truist Championship. An individual who guesses the exact number of birdies (or closest to) will have the chance to win a grand prize of a one-year vehicle lease or cash prize of $10,000. The runner up individual will receive a VIP Experience for two at the 2027 Truist Championship.
HOW IT WORKS:
- Dates: The program runs from November 12, 2025 through May 6, 2026.
- Pledge & Guess: Donors make pledges by guessing the total number of birdies that will be made by PGA TOUR players during the competition rounds of 2026 Truist Championship (May 7-10, 2026). To participate, donors contribute at least $20 to the participating charity of their choice.
- Grand Prize: One lucky supporter who guesses closest to the total number of birdies made during the tournament will win their choice of a one-year vehicle lease or $10,000 grand prize! The winner may elect to donate the $10,000 cash prize to the participating nonprofit of choice.
- Runner Up Prize: The person who comes second closest to guessing the total number of birdies made during the tournament will win a VIP Experience for Two at the 2027 Truist Championship.
- Bonus Pool: The tournament will contribute $100,000 to a bonus pool that will be distributed among participating charities based on fundraising totals.
- Tiebreaker: If there is a tie, the winner will be determined by the most accurate guess to a tiebreaker question: How many balls will land in the water on the Green Mile stretch (Holes 16, 17, & 18) during competition rounds of the 2026 Truist Championship? If multiple ties remain, an additional tiebreaker question will be used until a winner is determined: How many balls will land in the water at Hole 18 during competition rounds of the 2026 Truist Championship?
- Donate Online: Donors can click the "Donate Here" tab above to select a charity, make their birdies guess, and complete the donation via credit card or Apple Pay. All online donations will be collected by PGA TOUR Charities, Inc. and then distributed to the respective nonprofits at the end of the campaign.
- Donate By Cash or Check: Donors wishing to donate via cash or check will make their donation directly to the charity of their choice. The donor must complete a Manual Donation Form, which includes their birdies' guess and tie-breaker questions. The donor will send this form along with their donation directly to the charity. The charity will be responsible for recording all donations received and uploading them to the donation site.
