Truist Championship Invests $300,000 to Advance Philadelphia Workforce Development through Partnership with The Skills Initiative
Following overwhelming community support during the Truist Championship this past May, tournament officials are proud to announce a $300,000 investment in The Skills Initiative, the West Philadelphia-based workforce development organization. The funding will expand workforce development programs that provide job training, career coaching and employer partnerships to help connect Philadelphia residents with meaningful employment opportunities.
Cobbs Creek Revitalization
The Truist Championship announced a $750,000 donation to the Cobbs Creek Foundation to support the revitalization of one of golf’s most historic public courses. The contribution will help expand youth programs, provide greater access to the game, and strengthen Cobbs Creek’s legacy as a welcoming space where players of all backgrounds and skill levels can connect with the game.
Truist Championship announces estimated $2.5 million charitable impact in Philadelphia
The Truist Championship will generate an estimated $2.5 million in charitable impact for local organizations across the Greater Philadelphia region. The announcement was made during the tournament's media day, which marked the 40-day countdown to the event and featured remarks from Executive Director Joie Chitwood, First Tee – Greater Philadelphia CEO Bill Hyndman, and Truist Chairman and CEO Bill Rogers.
Growing the Game Grant Program
The Growing the Game Grant Program, an initiative of the Truist Championship in partnership with PGA TOUR Superstore, invites local nonprofits to apply for grants to receive brand-new golf equipment. This program expands access to golf, promotes equity, increases participation, and fosters competitive play for all individuals, regardless of socioeconomic status. We welcome nonprofits of all sizes and focus areas to apply and help us create a more inclusive golfing community.
